Azure's interest in Asian Culture and language developed at the start of her teen years. She began to study martial arts very intensely during Senior High, and a few years later earned the rank of 1st degree black belt in Shaolin Martial arts at the end of the 1990’s. During this same time frame, in the summer of 2000, she traveled  to Deng Feng China to study at the Northern Shaolin Temple briefly.

Starting in her later twenties she also began training in Japanese martial science for nearly a decade, before moving to another state away from her mentor in the style. In her free time she loves to travel throughout the US and more so all about the world with family and friends, visiting ancient and historically significant locations.

Azure holds two Bachelor's degrees (Chinese language & Asian Studies) from the University of Utah. She also studied Chinese through a study abroad program at a well known university (Nan Kai University) in Northern China. She worked for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) during the 2002 Winter Olympics hosted in SLC.

In addition she has lived in Southern China, near Hong Kong while working for a non profit organization, teaching English to children at a boarding school.  At Full Embodiment Acupuncture, Azure utilizes not just the things learned within the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) masters program, but also understanding gained from the lessons learned by personally feeling the history and essence of the medicine from the culture where it originated. Such experiences are a result of the spectacular fortune & opportunity to fully immerse in the Chinese culture while visiting, living, attending school and doing volunteer work in various regions of the People’s Republic of China.

PERSONAL JOURNEY:

Azure feels a direct connection with the medicine through her personal understanding of the Mandarin Chinese language, and even more so with the written characters. These studies over many years lends her confidence and the capacity to hold & begin to bridge together both the American mindset and Eastern medical theories. It has become her desire to share in the collective journey with others, acting as a stabilizing presence in the  acupuncture treatment experience.

Azure has come to realize that struggling through the growth process and feeling into both the pleasant and the painful aspects that are part of the fullness of life, it can open some of life’s most gratifying results. Which began through several hard decades and countless difficult lessons of her own struggles into many of the experiences life has to offer. She has been cultivating her own humility, maturity, respect, gratitude towards the all encompassing wholeness and vastness of the experience of connection by continuing to nurture her presence of depth.

She has begun practicing a life altering form of ancient Indo-Teibetian meditation that when committing to love of self and all others, helps lead to realizations and skills resulted from being fully submerged into everything (from bliss to the most painful of experiences).

Engaging in life through a myriad of techniques from all around our world addressing physical, spiritual and emotional sessions that life to throws at us can help us to Embody all of the positive attributes, while realizing and shedding the unpleasant negative things that hold us back from learning and growing to be the best living being that we all can become.

Azure whole-heartedly believes in always being a student of life and committing to personal growth and love. That in turn we then share and spread to everyone that we connect with, not just in the treatment room but with all we meet in everyday life.

Azure understands we have to want to find health and wellness for ourselves,  but also knows that we can help one another find these things together through finding good teammates throughout ones life. Through her training she accomplishes this by providing a grounded, fortified space for beginning or continuing the healing work and/or growth process, utilizing acupuncture skills, and other modalities of TCM and ancient mediation practices. She knows from personal experience of being treated by TCM for several decades, that it can and does lead to great healing in all ways. The benefits are many, of leaning on one another to navigate the intricate struggles that are part of life.
